Koseška korita - Details
This is a circular walk. You descend into the gorge passing several waterfalls of the Stopnik stream along the descent and you will see different streams (Stopnik, Brsnik, Ročica) during the whole walk.
The landscape is very diverse and beautiful. In the deep gorge cut by the Brsnik stream you find interesting limestone rock formations.
For those who have seen this page before July 2015: this page is updated. We did this walk again this year and the GPS track is now complete, and the figures of the trip information are now accurate.
How to get there
From Kobarid drive to the Napoleon bridge which is the old road to Tolmin via Kamno.
Just across the bridge turn left to Drežnica. In Drežnica turn right to Koseč. After you arrive in the Koseč hamlet, turn left on the first possible road. After 30 meters there is a parking place on the left side of that road where you can park.
During the walk
Walk back to the main road and turn left, with Drežnica behind you. After about 130 meters take a small side way down to the right. Walk between the houses where the path starts on grassland. After 200 meters from the main road you pass an old little church Sv. Just. To the right of that church there is a wooden gate where the real path starts.
The path is well maintained and signposted with red marks and signs by local people.
This is the only walk that I know where you find a money collection box (right after you get out of the Brsnik gorge). Don’t forget to leave a few coins as they use the money for materials to maintain the track. Such an initiative would be good at more places.
At the end of the walk you will exit the gorge on the road between Drežnica and Koseč, and turn right to walk back the 250 meters to Koseč.
