Soča - Bunkerji - Details

A nice-looking part of the river with a rocky riverbed. If the water isn’t too high, you can pick yourself a rock and sit in the riverbed, stare at the living water and come to rest.

From Bunkerji you could walk a part of the Soča trail.
See the Soča trail (Soška pot) page.

How to get there
On the road from Bovec to Kranjska Gora, at kilometer post 17,0, there is a long parking lot along the right side of the road, park there.

About the spot
Going down to the river is possible at several places. If you cross the river via the suspension bridge, you can go uphill on a path to the left and find why the place is given its name, a first World War bunker complex (don’t forget your flashlight).
When you go to the right on a path along the river just after you crossed the river via the suspension bridge and walk almost to the end of the section (200 meters) there is a big rock where you can climb on and overlook the whole section. This can be nice to watch kayakers if you like.

Trip information
This is just a spot, not a walk.
