Soča - Trnovo - Details

Description
This is the endpoint for all the rafts and kayakers and can be a busy place. There is a big suspension bridge. There is a slalom course used for national and international kayak competitions.
After the slalom course comes the Katarakt or Siphon canyon which can only be paddled by very experienced kayakers.

How to get there
On the road from Bovec to Kobarid, after passing Srpenica, you reach Trnovo ob Soči. At the entrance of the village, turn left on the first possible crossroad. Follow that road, later on it bends to the left and reaches the parking at Camp Trnovo and you are there.

During the walk
Walk to the big suspension bridge and choose which way you want to go, the paths down to the riverbed start just before the bridge.
If you go left (upstream), you can walk about 500 meters upstream along a path.
If you go right (downstream), you can make a longer walk on a nice path.
It starts with the slalom course, followed by the Katarakt section or Siphon canyon.
On the last part the path turns away from the riverbed a little and you walk through woods.
The walk ends at another suspension bridge over the Soča river.
The downloadable track is from this longer walk.
